Rising demand for contactless experiences at attractions

To better understand what contactless technology visitors expect, and what this means for attractions and casinos, we surveyed 4,000 attraction visitors to find out.

A year of endless hand-washing and antibacterial gel has rubbed off on consumers. Of those willing to visit casinos, amusement parks, and attractions this year, 1 in 4 (24%) will only visit if these venues offer a contactless customer experience.

To better understand what contactless technology visitors expect, and what this means for attractions and casinos, we surveyed 4,000 attraction visitors to find out.

Demand for contactless

When it comes to the types of contactless experiences visitors are demanding, over half (56%) of consumers want contactless entry, 49% expect mobile apps to reduce face-to-face interaction, while half (51%) want to see Pay-at-Table technology.

Under pressure to get visitors back through the gates, it’s clear the pandemic has expedited contactless technology from a ‘nice-to-have’ to a must-have. And, with almost a third (29%) of visitors willing to pay more for it, it’s a win-win for casinos and attractions.

Four must-have contactless technologiesIf you’re unsure where to start, we’re here to help. Whether launching something standalone, or integrating your gates, turnstiles, tables, vending machines, or F&B offering with an existing mobile app or RFID technology, here’s how Omnico’s contactless technology helps you do it:

  • Reduce queues with Mobile Order-Ahead: By allowing visitors to pay and Order-Ahead on mobile, you can serve more people, reduce queues, and improve satisfaction. In fact, contactless apps such as Omnico’s Mobile Order-Ahead technology, can help you get queues moving three times faster.
  • Increase transaction value with Kiosk: By implementing kiosk technology, you can give visitors a streamlined self-order and checkout experience, whether they’re buying a ticket, F&B, or a souvenir at your venue. And, with the ability to white-label the kiosk experience with your own branding, service options, and payment gateways, you can boost average transaction value by 29%.
  • Speed up payments with Pay-at-Table: No more rifling through the cash drawer for change or waiting for paper bills; with Pay-at-Table technology, you can enable quick and easy payments for customers wherever they are in your venue. With multi-pay options built-in, your customers can also pay from their preferred method, whether that be Android Pay, Apple Pay, Chip and Pin, magstripe, or NFC contactless.
  • Get guests spending more with RFID technology: RFID technology will appease your guests’ need for contactless technology while encouraging them to spend more. Primed for use with wearable technology and mobile devices, RFID technology enables your customers to spend and redeem rewards across all your services or POS systems.

With COVID-19 accelerating demand for contactless technology, integrating your gates, turnstiles, tables, lockers, drinks, and vending machines with contact-free technology is a must for attractions and casinos.

Whether your guests buy at a kiosk, use Pay-at-Table technology, or get ahead with Mobile-Order-Ahead, you can use every interaction as an opportunity for upsell by connecting your point-of-sale systems with rewards and incentives.

There’s a lot to take in, but you don’t have to do it alone. At Omnico, we offer a suite of guest engagement products and services that help attractions restore customer confidence and drive loyalty.
