Save the Sale Retail Benchmark

Almost a third of UK retailers questioned in our exclusive research, will enable in-store customers to order items from alternative branches.

Launched in June 2016, Omnico questioned 31 UK retailers, with more than 100 stores, on their omni-channel technical capabilities, recognising where they currently lack requirements.

  • 33%of retailers say biggest challenge in handling stock across different channels

  • 26%of retailers plan to allow customers to order stock online, when shopping in-store

  • 32%of retailers will invest in omni-channel tech to improve customer service and loyalty

  • 13%of retailers plan to allow customers to order goods still in transit

The research found that 32% of major UK retailers plan to install technology that enables in-store shoppers to order an item unavailable in one branch, from another holding it in stock.

Working with Martec International, the retail specialist consultancy, the research also found that just 13% of retailers had technology that allows in-store customers to order goods from another branch that has the item available – ultimately losing out on valuable sales.
